Ash Crates, Ready to Burn (WS identifier varies with supplier)

If you have the space to store and keep it dry, a crate is the most cost effective method of purchasing quality RTB branded logs. The crate contains tightly packed premium Kiln Dried Logs with a saving of around £90 against purchasing the equivalent volume (12.5) of our 60ltr Ash sacks.   Ash (and Oak) are widely regarded as the best hardwoods for burning. These logs will burn around 30% longer than birch.  You will be purchasing a Winters worth of high quality fuel. Dimensions:

• External, approx. 1.20m wide x 0.85m deep x 1.10m high = 1.12m³
  
• Estimated: Internal 0.75m³ (750ltr); Loose volume 1.5m³; 460-480kg
  
• Logs are approximately 25cm long to fit most wood burning stoves
• Thickness (size) of the logs can vary.  The larger the log, the longer it will last
• The crate can be chopped up and used for starter fuel (kindling) on your stove.

Loose delivery and dumpy bags.  The price and quality of log crates cannot be compared to logs delivered loose or in dumpy bags. These can be of an unspecified variety, including softwoods; low quality (>20% moisture); up to twice the volume of crated logs; and have to be stacked at your premises.

Delivery Options

We have two options for delivery:

• Tip My Logs service in our service area only.
• Haulier, see information below

ABOC do not have the facility to unload the crate intact from our vans.  If you want the crate kept intact, we need to use a haulier with a tail gate facility.  We will also need to use a haulier if the crate needs to be kept intact to move any appreciable distance, around 5metres.  An option, if you prefer, is we can deliver and tip logs from our vans onto your property.

Tip my logs

• We will check your property on Google Maps for accessibility and discuss any potential issues before delivery
  
• Day and approximate time will be agreed with you beforehand. If it is raining, we will rearrange.
  
• Van MUST be able to be parked on your drive or kerbside very close to your property
• The crate will be opened and logs dropped immediately outside the van
• We will leave the empty crate for you to use or take it away
• Option - Our delivery driver will help you move the logs a short distance (no more than 5 metres) to your log storage area (excludes stacking) for a small fee of £10 (30 minutes max).

Haulier Delivery

ABOC deliver in the North East (NE, SR, and DH postcodes) only using 3.5tonne vans.  The Ash crates weigh around 500kg and we do not have the facility to unload the crate at site so require a haulier.
The haulier will contact you to arrange delivery.  They are contracted to deliver kerbside as close as possible to your home and will move the crate onto your property if the pallet truck permits.
